Zuma oh Zuma. What will we ever do with you?

My mind has finally been made up. It's been decided, there is no hope for Jacob Zuma. I have always known he is corrupt, not the sharpest pencil in the space case and the epitome of an ineffectual leader. But I had always held out hope that he was a nice guy who wanted to do the right thing, and eventually would. But his actions over the past two weeks have been the final straw and now know that he doess not have the country’s best interests at heart. Every decision he makes is linked to ensuring that his power base remains strong.
The particular actions I am referring to are, firstly, his nomination of Moegoeng Moegoeng to the position of Chief Justice. Moegoeng² is a religious zealot who bases all his judgements on the hocus pocus found in the Bible. He is a homophobic, sexist moron who frankly is not fit to tie his predecessor- Sandile Ncgobo’s shoelaces. I am sure that all the legal eagles who opposed Zuma’s attempt to re-elect Ncgobo when his term was up are rueing ever opening their big mouths. The one saving grace we have is that Moegoeng is only one of eleven Concourt judges, whose rulings are made on a majority basis.
The other thing JZ did this week to confirm he inept he is, is saying to the Black Business Association that the judiciary is stifling economic growth in this country, by opposing too many laws that the executive tries to implement. Um, hello! That’s what they are there for. In case Zuma has forgotten, the ANC were chief instigators of the constitution and it is generally regarded as the most just and amazing constitutions in the world. If our constitution was abolished, who knows how much worse off we would be right now.
Zuma is a bully and a schlent. He appoints people who will do his bidding and refuses to act against incompetent ministers, as long as they support him. The only worry is, if he goes, who will replace him? Kgalema Motlanthe? He is an unknown entity. He may be even worse than  Zuma. Tokyo Sexwale? Perhaps. May not be such a bad thing. Cyril Ramaphosa? I hope so.
